Cellulite is not exclusively female, nor is it just related to being overweight – although 85% of women have some degree of this inflammation that reaches the deepest cells of the skin. Also present in thin women, fat and thin men, and even children, cellulite can have hormonal and genetic causes. Still it is not considered a disease. It is characterized by irregularities that appear under the skin in the form of ripples, caused by imbalances in the anatomy of the subcutaneous tissue, which lead to fat herniation towards the skin. In other words, cellulite is a consequence of changes between the fatty tissue and the dermis.
In this deeper part of the skin, blood microcirculation is impaired by the accumulation of fibrous tissues, fat, water and toxins in cells. This prevents these cells from absorbing nutrients and eliminating excess water and toxins. With ripples and “holes”, an aspect known as “orange peel”, cellulite is divided into three types: mild, when visible only when tightening the skin; moderate when visible without compression; and severe, when nodules are visible in any position, the stage where it causes pain.
Cellulite usually affects the thighs, buttocks, belly and sides of the hips (flanks), which easily accumulate fat. It is associated with sagging and localized fat, and is aggravated by obesity. External factors such as smoking, physical inactivity, stress and environmental pollution also help cellulite to settle in the body. Biostimulators, when injected into the skin by cannula, have the ability to reinforce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid inside. The action of biostimulation therefore occurs from the inside out.
The dermis, for example, under the effect of biostimulators, starts to produce a lot of collagen, so the treatment is well-known when it comes to reducing sagging and achieving excellent results also for cellulite. Results in the buttocks and inner thighs and arms are significant.
